About Sound Goods
Sound Goods is led by Robin Croen, a Seattle-based designer and maker with a background in landscape architecture. Woodworking had been a part of Robin’s life for as long as he can remember. The son of a luthier, he grew up in a home where wood shavings and the smell of sawdust were part of everyday life. His father’s shop was his first classroom, and building furniture became a natural extension of that early curiosity - an outlet where design, problem-solving, and craft come together. His experience within professional design offices informs an approach that is both design-literate and grounded in how things are actually made.
Approach
Each piece is developed in response to its context: the space it will live in, the way it will be used, and the people it is made for.
Our process emphasizes clarity—through drawings, material selection, and ongoing communication—so that what is built reflects the intent behind it.
Longevity is treated as a fundamental part of the design process. Pieces are made to endure in both structure and presence, with the belief that longevity is one of the most meaningful forms of sustainability.
